Snowbee Prestige 10′ 5#

Tested by Trout & Salmon in a review of 10′ 5# rods for reservoirs and lochs, as light line fishing becomes increasingly popular, the Snowbee Prestige was recommended,
“I really cannot fault it” Andrew Flitcroft editor and tester at Rutland Water.
• 6 or 4-piece ultra lightweight carbon blanks
• Snowbee tri-modulus carbon technology
• Fast action with high lift snakes for extreme distance casting
• Deep bronze finish with matching whippings
• Anodised silver/gold aluminium reel seat with maple burl wood inserts
• Matching cotton drill rod bag
• Aluminium rod tube
• Snowbee Original Purchaser Lifetime Guarantee

The lightweight aluminium reel fittings have a hard anodised silver/gold finish and feature stunning maple burl wood inserts. This beautiful wood displays a range of colours and grain patterns, making each rod quite unique and individual. The new rich bronze colour of the blanks is complemented by self colour whippings with a subtle, single band of bronze whipping. From the moment you pick up a Prestige fly rod, you will appreciate the detail that has gone into them, as they simply ooze class. Every rod carries an Original Purchaser Lifetime Guarantee and comes in matching cotton drill sleeve and lightweight Cordura tube, providing the ultimate in protection, style and peace of mind.
Using our well-proven tri-modulus technology, the blanks feature a subtle blend of 30, 40 and 50 ton carbon, to achieve the precise action we are seeking throughout the blank. These rods now compare favourably with the best on the market, plus we have extended the range to include some fabulous new lighter line class, river rods.

Vision Opas Waders

Do you like to wade deep? Do you find yourself floating down the river, with pockets full of water, wet mobile phones and car keys every now and then? Well we can’t help you with your habits but at least we can offer you a wader with a totally, fully and really waterproof pocket.
The Opas wader’s main pocket is welded stitchlessly inside the wader and the entrance zipper is YKK®’s fully waterproof zipper. A feature which you can’t find from other waders, yet. This pocket is big enough for your important items and even fly boxes.
On surface we have two additional, roomy and water resistant pockets. These pockets have also waterproof, welded construction but their zippers are the YKK®’s water resistant AquaGuards. With deep waders in mind we placed these zippers horizontally so you can still wade very deep without filling these pockets.
Opas waders are made using our latest Japanese made F4 – fabric™, improved seam technology and tens of years wader making knowhow. Their lower part is made from strong and abrasion resistant 5 layer fabric whereas the upper part has 4 layer fabric and the ratio of the usage of 4- and 5-layer fabrics has been conceived with the best breathability in mind. The built-in high density neoprene support belt gives you extra comfort on long fishing days. These waders also have all the other well thought out features like curved NoSeam cut, matching colour belt and braces, D – loops, built-in gravel guards, drying loops, etc…

Indicator fishing videos

Here are links to a couple of videos, one showing how to put one on your leader and remove it, the other from Fish It! http://www.fishitnetwork.com is general indicator fishing North Island New Zealand, catching big browns and rainbows, always worth watching when you can’t get out due to the river conditions. Still going bass fishing tomorrow, hopefully the sea will be in better nick than the chocolate express train that is the River Exe.

Fishing the Strike Indicator

Went up on the CFFC stretch of the Taw on Monday, started in the first pool above the bridge with the indicator with 2 nymphs underneath as nothing was rising, cast up halfway across, the first run down nothing but learnt how easy it was to mend line without effecting the line I was fishing, adjusted the depth and cast further across and the indicator hesitated, a quick lift of the rod and I was into a very nice 12″ brown, this was followed by  5″ and 3″ fish. Fished through the next pool without anything, up into the next where a fish swirled at the indicator. Of it came and on went a dry midge pattern which was ignored. The next pool produced a 6″ fish that was rising and the next fish was another !2″ fish and so it continued up the river with changes from dry to nymph and back again, with a total of 12 fish. The thing was both the dry 17# and the nymph 14# both had the same body material, black Flexi Floss, which makes a good copy of a buzzer. For Flexi Floss go to Fly Fishing Tackle Co UK.
Went back at the end of the day and caught the fish that swirled at the indicator on the dry – a nice 10″ fish. Picked about 50 balsam plants before I left – every little counts!

I use this in black in straight and micro depending on the size of fly.
